ISABEL GREGORY
Participant in 1987, team member since 1988. Previously her work was in secondary education. Isabel is a lay associate of the Helpers of the Holy Souls
with whom she has worked for a number of years. She is involved in retreats, workshops and 1-1 companioning. Isabel is interested in the arts and holistic, psychologically aware journeys of soul making. She
lives in Oxfordshire. She has two daughters and two grandchildren.
MARY ROSE FITZSIMMONS HHS
Mary Rose’s work in spirituality began in Glasgow in the 1970’s in the Helpers’ retreat house in Langside offering retreats for women. She
has been part of the Llysfasi team since 1985. In Liverpool she was a school chaplain as well as accompanying people in a variety of ways in the parish and local community. She also works in facilitation of
group discernment for religious. Mary Rose is currently on sabbatical.
MARY WILSON
Mary’s background is in counselling and psychotherapy with involvement also in training and supervision. She has worked with a variety of groups from
the nursing and teaching professions as well as a work consultant for the Anglican Church. Workshop participant in 1999, team member since 2001. Mary continues to develop her experience in being soul
companion to others. She and her husband live in West Dorset and have a son, daughter and five grandchildren.
LIZ BILLETT
Much of her working life was as a nurse and mid-wife. Liz continues being ‘mid-wife’ as an Anglican priest in rural Norfolk. With her
husband she is creating a space in their home and garden for people who need to have time to themselves, creation and God. She enjoys anything creative, cooking, gardening, painting, dancing. She and her
husband have two teenage sons. Liz was a Llysfasi participant in 2001 and has been a team member since 2005.
BRIAN HOWDEN
Brian was a participant in 1990; a team member in 1999 and 2006. He is a Baptist minister in joint ministry with his wife, to three rural churches in
the Cotswolds. He accompanies people on 1-1 retreats at Burford Priory. He previously taught Christian Spirituality at an ecumenical theological college. Brian is involved in the Baptist Retreat Group and is Chair
of the National Retreat Association. He enjoys his family including three grand-daughters.
GERALDINE O’MEARA
Gerry was a participant in 1987. She has been working in spirituality, psychology and workshop facilitation for over 20 years in both the UK and Canada. Her
principle focus has been Ignatian and Gestalt although she draws from the richness of many other traditions. Gerry is a mum and a grandma, a lover of life with a passionate interest in painting and art in its many
mediums and forms. She lives in Canada.
ANNIKA WIREN
Annika is a priest in the Church of Sweden. She says that her Lutheran background, great interest in Ignatian Spirituality and the influence of Chinese
traditions in her life were all brought together by her experience as a participant in the 2005 Llysfasi Workshop. For the past seven and a half years she has served in Rinkeby, a very diverse suburb of Stockholm
trying to develop ways of working and a theology for this context. Annika was a team member in Sweden last year.
